The two section scores make the total
Your score report gives a Reading and Writing score and a Math score. Adding them produces the total. Score reports also show performance across content domains, which is more actionable for study than the total alone.

Why there is no universal raw-score chart
The Digital SAT uses item response theory and a two-stage adaptive design. The specific questions answered correctly, their characteristics and the module pathway all contribute to the scaled score. Two students with the same number correct can therefore receive different section scores.
This is also why unofficial charts that promise an exact score from a raw correct-answer count should be treated cautiously. Use the score from an official or properly calibrated digital test rather than a homemade conversion.
A good score depends on the decision it supports
There is no single good SAT score for every student. Compare the result with the middle score range of the colleges on your list, scholarship rules that publish a threshold, and your own baseline. A score can be strong nationally while still sitting below a particular program's typical range.
Percentiles describe how a score compares with a reference group; they do not describe admission probability. Colleges weigh scores differently and many use test-optional policies.

Turn the score report into the next study block
Start with the weaker section, then inspect domain performance and the questions that produced it. Prioritize a skill when it is both weak and frequent enough to affect many questions.
Retest after targeted work, not immediately. The goal is to see whether the corrected skill transfers to unfamiliar questions under timing.
Read section scores before chasing a conversion chart
For example, a 620 in Reading and Writing and a 680 in Math add to 1300. The useful next question is not how many raw questions equal another 20 points; it is which content domains and error types are consistently weaker on the report.
College Board uses item response theory and multistage adaptive scoring, so two students with the same count of correct answers can receive different scaled scores. Some questions are unscored pretest items. Use the reported section and domain information; a universal raw-score table cannot reconstruct the official calculation.
