Two Digital SAT study platforms compared head to head

The short answer

They solve different problems. Khan Academy is the free official-aligned course for learning and reviewing content domains. UWorld is a paid question bank and course built around a large set of exam-style questions with detailed explanations. Start free; add UWorld when you are running out of realistic practice questions rather than out of explanations.

The real differentiator is explanation depth

UWorld's pitch is the explanation attached to each question — why the correct answer works and why the distractors are tempting. That is worth money if your problem is understanding your errors, and it is wasted money if you already understand them and simply have not practised enough under timing.

Test this before subscribing. Take ten missed questions from a Bluebook test and write your own explanation for each. If you can, you do not have an explanation problem.

03

A sensible sequence

Take a Bluebook full-length test, repair the weakest two domains on Khan Academy, then retest. If the same domains fail again with the same error type, extra explanation depth or per-topic analytics is the next purchase. If you are accurate untimed but slow or careless under timing, volume and pacing practice matter more than another explanation.

Buying both plus a course rarely helps. More overlapping content usually reduces study time rather than increasing it.

Pay for the thing your last practice test proved you were missing, not the thing with the longest feature list.
